Cadillac parked on Brooklyn Street for 25 years, finally towed

A legend is over.

The old, rusty Cadillac that is parked on Brooklyn Street doesn’t change with the seasons. A long-time resident estimates that it has been there since 1994. After a Windsor Park resident complained, the 1971 Caddy was finally towed away from New York Police Department.

According to the New York Daily News, the vehicle is a landmark in the area. According to locals, the vehicle was owned by an elderly man who had a mental illness and was unable to care for it. The 1970s sedan was noted to have a New York inspection sticker. The car was stopped by a street cleaner after a recent complaint and towed to NYPD’s Erie Basin Auto Pound.

One woman who lived in Prospect Park three years ago said that it was a safety hazard. Daily News. It is a common sight that my children pass every day. It must go. Another neighbor said: “Everybody had the right to move, except you! This Cadillac is more than films. There is no ticket without a tow.

Nobody knew when the car was moved last. The Caddy couldn’t be relocated by new parking regulations. Even a recent city filming permit asking residents to move their cars didn’t make any difference. This luxury sedan was filled from floor to ceiling with yellow newspapers, empty water bottles and other remnants of decades past.

The city tow the car, but not everyone was happy. Jake, a neighbor said that the car was a “mainstay” in his neighborhood. “Those who look at it and want it gone are not Brooklynites.”
