This is your chance to get a piece of muscle car history.
It can be hard to find an original Ford Mustang Boss429 due to the low production runs of the muscle car over only two model years, 1969 and 1970. Classic Recreations will help you find one at the SEMA show, where they will launch the first Boss 429 continuing cars.
Meet the new Boss!
Classic Recreations will be displaying the Boss 429 for the first time at the Centerforce Clutches during SEMA. It won’t have the motorsport-derived, 7.0-liter V8 that the originals had. The engine will instead be an 8.4-liter fuel-injected V8 that produces 815 horsepower (608 megawatts). It will be able to connect to a Centerforce DYAD flywheel and clutch.
Ford was able to homologate the original Boss 429 V8 (429 cubic inches, 7.0-liter) for NASCAR use with the Boss 429. Automakers had to sell 500 powerplants to customers in order to be allowed to compete. Ford had to remove Mustangs from the assembly line to modify the engine to fit the mill. Although the engine’s rating was 375 horsepower (280 kW) at the time of its production, it was likely that this number was much lower than what actually occurred.
Classic Restorations, which announced in April that it had been granted the license by Ford to make continuation cars based upon the 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 302, 1969-1970 Mustang Boss 329, and 1969-1970 Mustang Mach 1 models.
Jason Engel, the company’s owner, stated that the Boss 429 Mustang is one of the rarest and coolest Mustangs ever made. However, they are so expensive that most owners won’t even drive them.” This is a rare opportunity to own a car they can drive. Modern chassis and engine technology will make these cars faster and more enjoyable to drive.
