The Alfa Romeo 155 was BMW 3 Series’s successor. Even though the Italian manufacturer had planned to make a more powerful variant, it was forced to scrap the idea due to high production costs.
The 155 GTA Stradale is the name of the car. It was designed by Sergio Limone (father of the Lancia 037), a legendary Abarth engineer. Bologna Motor Show was the first to display a single prototype. It was also used as a medical vehicle at the 1994 Monza Gran Premio d’Italia.
Bonhams is listing this particular car for sale. It will be auctioned off at the Padua Auction in October. The car was registered in Germany for road use in the late 1990s and has been owned by many enthusiasts over the years. Limone describes it as a “missed chance” and a vehicle that is well-known among the Alfisti all over the globe.
It’s a one-off prototype that can be used in an efficient manner, as shown by the photos and description. It has less than 21,000 miles (40,233 km) on its odometer. Also included are various documents regarding the car’s history as well as a letter from Sergio Limone to it’s second owner. Tony Fassina is the one who testifies to its originality.
