The 35th Anniversary and Autobahn trims offer more features.
The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI The American version of the BMW 325i will be available for purchase in spring at a starting price $25,995 and an $895 destination fee for all trims. Buyers who want more amenities can choose the 35th Anniversary Edition for $26,995 and the top-of-the-line Autobahn for $29195.
The GLI trims all come standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder 2.0-liter producing 228 horsepower (170 kilowatts), and 258 pound feet (350 Newton-meters). For an additional $800, the models can be ordered with a six speed manual transmission.
The base S trim even has full LED headlights, driver assistance tech such as forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear traffic alarm. The GLI has a suspension that is 0.6 inch (15.2 millimeters lower) than the regular Jetta. Front features a honeycomb grille in black with red accents. Rear features include a spoiler and diffuser as well as two chrome exhaust tips. There are heated seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. The infotainment screen is 6.5 inches.
The 35th Anniversary Edition upgrades the exterior with a black roof, mirror caps and rear spoiler. The 18-inch wheels have a dark gray finish with a red accent around their rim. This grade also features adaptive dampers.
The Autobahn upgrade significantly upgrades the Jetta’s cabin. The interior includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment screen. There is also a 400-watt, eight speaker Beats Audio stereo. Leather upholstery is available with ventilated seats and power adjustments for drivers. The panoramic sunroof allows for fresh air and natural sunlight to be enjoyed by the occupants.
