China will see the debut of two new Encore variants, including one with a longer wheelbase, this week.

The Buick name is a rather stodgy and middle-luxury car that is mainly driven by older people in the U.S. This is not the case in China . The brand is seen in China as more fashionable than Audi.

Buicks are loved by young, urban Chinese car buyers. GM wisely invested in their success in this market. They’ll be launching two small SUVs and a new concept car at Auto Shanghai 2019.

The new Encore and the long-wheelbase Encore GX are inspired by last year’s Buick Encore concept. This concept was displayed at various auto shows around world. The Encore GX is a continuation of a Chinese trend in automotive design that many Westerners might find confusing: long wheelbase versions of small and mid-sized cars. BMW sells a long wheelbase 3 Series model in China.

In October 2012, the first Encore SUV was launched to China. Buick seems to have a firm grip on the Chinese luxury market with two additional models and plans to sell the larger Enclave there in the latter part of the year.

Auto Shaghai 2019 will also see the debut of the GL8 Avenir concept. The GL8 Avenir concept is also debuting at Auto Shaghai 2019. It may appear to be a standard crossover.

Buick designers created the front grille and interior upholstery to look like gently rolling waves. Even the light grey and blue black color scheme throughout the concept pays homage to the local culture traditional Chinese ink paintings, which are one of the oldest artistic traditions on the planet.

It’s also a proof that Buick is committed the Chinese market, along with the exclusive long-wheelbase Encore CX.
