This is your chance to buy a show car once seen by thousands at SEMA.
The SEMA show is an annual trade show held in Las Vegas. SEMA stands to Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association. The SEMA show gives aftermarket parts manufacturers the opportunity to showcase their products, such as superchargers, wheels, and seats. It can still be considered one the most important auto shows across the country. The cool cars displayed are not something that you can buy at your local dealership. For the show and the exposure they will get, many manufacturers spend a lot of money building custom cars.
Many of the custom cars that were built for SEMA are not seen again after the event. Barn Locates found this 2004 SEMA show car that was being sold on eBay, Washington. This black and orange, Harley-Davidson-themed creation was built by Ford for the 2004 SEMA show. Ford, just like other car manufacturers, attends SEMA in the same manner as many aftermarket makers. They’re eager to display their custom creations.
A cut-down E-350 Econoline van was used as the base. The pickup bed was then added along with aggressive off-road tires, and a brush guard. This van/pickup hybrid has four-wheel drive, in case you didn’t know. The bed is too small to hold anything larger than a tricycle. Although the E-350’s supercharged 6.8-liter V10 engine makes it the perfect tow vehicle for a trailer full of Harleys, it is also powered by an extremely powerful 6.8-liter V10.
This trick truck is a great example of how show cars can look, even though many aren’t as impressive as they appear. It looks brand new for its age, 15 years after it was made. This is a testament that Ford built it, and not some custom shop trying to make a name. It doesn’t have any bubbling Bondo, peeling paint or drooping interior panel. It has been meticulously preserved over the past 15 year, with less than 600 miles since its construction.Craftsmanship comes at a cost. The current owner wants $125,000 for the ex-SEMA showtruck, but they are open to offers. What would you pay to own this unique ex-show truck. Comment below to let us know your thoughts!
