Ford Plans Focus-Based Pickup Truck To Slot Under Ranger
Ford is said to prefer the Courier name for its little truck.

Ford appears serious about making a small pickup with the platform of the new Ford F-150.Focus The Blue Oval Insiders tell Ford Authority The team has completed several months of development and will soon begin evaluating test mules.
This tiny truck would have many of the same mechanical parts as the Focus, but it would be equipped with a sedan or hatchback body to carry a cargo bed. Ford is expected to launch the small carry-all in 2021, which would be below the Ranger. People outside of the United States may be familiar with this recipe: take a small Ford and make it into a pickup. This little pickup was built using the Fiesta as its underpinnings.

Ford is not yet certain if it will sell the Focus-based truck in America, but the company is at the very least planning for that possibility. The automaker applied for the trademark on Courier’s name in July 2016. On June 26, 2018, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted permission to use this moniker.

Reports have suggested that Ford would construct the model in Mexico. The company would then export the model to Brazil before it launches a version in America.

According to Ford Authority’s insiders , the company prefers the Courier name for its new model but it isn’t yet a final decision.

Ford has so far decided not to sell the new Focus in the United States . This includes the more powerful, crossover-inspired Active version. A pickup could be a better fit with the Blue Oval’s plans to concentrate on trucks and SUVs. It might also indicate a hope that this small truck will eventually become available in the U.S.
