Why bother with a campervan or motorhome when you can have a smaller van with an electricly expandable rear pod that provides the same living space?
Overland Motorhomes Ltd in South Wales has almost doubled the size and functionality of their Volkswagen T5 Transporter. They have an electrically extended pod that self-levels on its two legs. The T5 DoubleBack is a combination of the practicality and space of a Transporter and a common motorhome.
Craig McCormack, the founder, released this statement: “The DoubleBack was inspired by a desire for a truly spacious and comfortable camper with all of the practical benefits of a smaller vehicle.”
The DoubleBack is a great vehicle for leisure and sports. It can carry 2 or 3 people in either ‘captains chair’ or ‘benchseat’ configurations.
The vehicle’s interior features include an elevating roof, fold-out bed, and a kitchenette.
Volkswagen Transporter long wheelbase with 2.0 liter TDI 140PS ( 103 kW / 138 bhp ) is the base vehicle.
On Saturday, March 24, 2012, the DoubleBack will be open to public inspection at the VW Sinclair dealership in Cardiff.
The DoubleBack costs PS54,995 for the road.
