The sporty crossover is more economical.
The news of the turbocharged Mazda CX-30 crossover is not new. The crossover received a power boost in August . However, it is now official. The 250-horsepower Mazda CX-30 Turbo is here.
It has such power if you fuel it with good stuff. Mazda explains how the turbocharged 2.5-liter Skyactiv G four-cylinder engine produces 250 horsepower and 320 poundfeet torque when it is running on 93 octane gasoline. Lower grade gasoline is fine. However, power drops to 227 horsepower and 310 lb.ft at 87. It’s still a significant improvement on the standard CX-30’s 186 ponies. The new CX-30 Turbo, which comes with all-wheel drive and a tuned suspension that allows for spirited driving, is set to be the sport of sport-utility.
Mazda’s 2021 CX-30 Turbo offers safety and driver assistance features. Smart City Brake Support Reverse and Rear Cross Traffic Braking is a way of saying that the CX-30 features an auto-brake function when backing up. If there are any obstacles or cross traffic behind the SUV, brakes automatically apply at speeds of between 2 and 4 miles. The CX-30 Turbo now features Traffic Jam Assist, which allows for automatic steering inputs up to 40 mph. You can also view the monitor 360 degrees.
The added power brings out a sportier exterior. The primary upgrade is standard-issue 18-inch black aluminum tires. But if you look closely, you will also see gloss black door mirrors. The rear gate will have a turbo badge. While the interior isn’t significantly different from the CX-30, it’s still beautiful.
Mazda does not currently offer pricing information for the CX-30 US-bound. Our previous report suggested it should be priced at around $30,000 without the $1,100 destination fee.
