Although a Yugo GV is not our first choice, it sure looks great.
Motor1 has been covering many motorhomes and campers lately, but we have been neglecting overland content. If there was a way to easily describe overland builds we would imagine how any car could be modified to become a Subaru Outback with additional cargo space.
A mild suspension lift, aggressive tires, a roof rack and auxiliary lights are some of the most common modifications. Many of these vehicles can be used for camping and have additional amenities. While overland trucks seem like a good choice, they are still highly capable and less common than other vehicles.
It’s unlikely you’ve ever seen an overland vehicle such as this before. It may actually be the first Yugo overland vehicle we have ever seen. The owners started with a clean car and an interior. They are now selling it on eBay.
The owners may have been inspired by the Sahara Beige paint, which was so descriptively named. They turned their Yugo into an all terrain vehicle. A 2″ lift was created by custom suspension, which allows for the clearance of large snow tires. All of the mechanical parts are covered by skid plates.
The hatchback’s rooftoop cargo carrier, which is custom-built, not only looks great but also adds a lot of storage space. The Yugo looks more like a large-scale R/C car with a large whip antenna.
The Yugo’s mechanical performance is excellent. A full tune-up ensured that the factory rating of 53 horsepower was maintained. To help evacuate the spent gases more efficiently and add some horsepower to the Little Overlander That Could, a high-flow exhaust was installed.
We are charmed by this off-roader and we keep clicking the “Buy it Now” button every day. Save us! Buy this thing now!
