Ford Performance Teases Crazy Mustang Mach-E Tire Killing Machine

Evidently, tires and electricity do not mix.

A spy clip from a few weeks ago showed a Mach1_, or at least a part of one, doing everything it could to damage its tires. We used spy clip loosely because it felt less like a sneaky visit into a closed-off area and more like an actual encounter. Ford Performance has posted a tweet teasing a Mach E…um… destroying its tires. Coincidence?

This teaser and the spy video timing are certainly convenient. The background of the photo might give some clues as it is similar to that in the spy video. The location was determined to be the North Carolina Center for Automotive Research, which Ford has visited in the past. RTR Vehicles has also been linked to the area, and RTR released a teaser on its behalf a few days back suggesting something crazy with the Mach-E. What is the deal?

We don’t have much time to wait, though it remains to be seen. It is clear that Ford Performance and RTR are involved in some scheming, as both teasers indicate July 21st. This post will go live tomorrow, but we only have what we see in the photo. What do we see? What do we see? Tire smoke, lots of it, and the distinctive front clip of a Mustang Mustang Mach-E. We also see a prominent splitter, with many winglets and flared frontfenders.

The Ford Performance windshield banner can barely be seen, while Mach–E stenciled on to the hood. We can’t see what it is, but there’s another thing on the hood. It could be power or range. This car is generating enough tire smoke to create its micro-climate, so we’re going to go out on a limb.

Do you have any ideas about what Mach-E could be up to? We need your input now because tomorrow will bring closure to the mystery.
