It is ready for assembly.
The Chevrolet Suburban has been completely redesigned for the 2020 model year. Automaker also has big plans to overhaul the SUV. The regular model will soon be joined by an offroad-focused trim with the Z71 suffix. The Suburban Z71 was first seen via an online configurator in May, and today we are able to share the first photos of this rugged utility vehicle. These photos are not official and were taken by our photographers on-site to show the vehicle in its entirety.
The prototype we spotted doesn’t disguise itself and the design matches exactly what we saw on the online configurator. The shiny chrome trim pieces have been replaced by black accents. These include the bowtie and window surrounds. Suburban badges are also included. A new black grille is also installed above the front bumper, which has a new protective skid plate. The machine aluminum wheels of 20 inches seem slightly different from the regular model’s alloys. The new Suburban’s 5.3 liter V8 is under the Z71’s hood. It produces 355 horsepower (264 Kilowatts) at its peak and 383 pound feet (519 Newton-meters). The new 10-speed automatic transmission from GM is paired with it. This transmits power to the SUV’s four-wheel drive system as part of the standard equipment.
The Chevrolet Suburban Z71 is listed on Chevrolet’s online configurator with a starting price at $61,900. Add the $1,295 delivery charge to bring the total to $63,195. Customers will be able to select from a variety of optional packages, such as the $2820 Luxury Package or the $2490 Rear Media & Nav Package. A Z71 Signature Package, which costs $4,785, adds safety features as well as a panoramic sunroof, and other options. Chevy should have the 2021 Suburban Z71 in their showrooms by year’s end.
