Jaguar is a leader in new product development. It will be reviving nearly all of its lineup. The next-generation XJ will be a pure EV model. Some people had the opportunity to see the zero-emissions flagship outside of JLR.
Jaguar invited the World Car Award jurors to visit its Coventry design studios, where they were able to see some of Jaguar’s future products. The most intriguing of all the new XJ, which will replace the previous generation, was undoubtedly the most fascinating. It is unlikely that the car will be revealed soon. Therefore, it is not surprising that there are currently no images of the car.
The J-Pace was another large vehicle that was shown behind closed doors. The J-Pace, a large SUV, has been long rumored. We now have additional evidence that it is in development to replace the F-Pace in Jaguar’s SUV lineup. The J-Pace is expected to be on the same aluminum-intensive MLA platform that the next-gen Range Rover. It has likely to include at least one hybrid variant of the hardware, as it was designed with electrification in view.
WCOTY jurors had the opportunity to inspect the replacements for the XE sedan, and F-Type sports car. The latter has been in testing multiple times. Jaguar briefly mentioned the possibility of adding models to the bottom of their lineup like the A-Pace or B-Pace. However, it’s too early to know if these will happen.
Every Jaguar will offer an electrified engine starting next year. The company says it will be focusing on fully electrified and full-electric EVs over the next ten years.
