A new model could be made, depending on how it is received over the next weeks and months. Also, the construction costs.
Today, Infiniti’s electrically powered Emerg-E Concept was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Depending on media reactions, the concept could go into production.
The power is generated by two electric motors and a 1.2-liter three-cylinder, Lotus-derived petrol engine. The electric motors can take it up to 30 miles, while the range-extending petrol engine can get it 10 times farther. Each electric motor produces 201bhp (15 kW/ 204 PS), while the 1.2-liter engine adds 47 bhp (35.5 kW/ 48 PS).
The design was derived from the Essence Concept, first published in 2009, and then in the Etherea last year.
We can expect the production price to be around $150,000 if the sports car is approved for production. The majority of sales will take place in Europe. It would also include the U.S. and Japanese markets.
