The Toyota Hilux is loved by people, so the company has decided to combine them for its new machine in order to compete in the 2022 Dakar Rally. The event will take place in Saudi Arabia on January 2, 2022.

This machine’s name is the Toyota GR DKR Hilux T1+. It doesn’t roll off the tongue. The body is reminiscent of the brand’s pickup, but it has huge fender flares as well as a large front skid plate. The back has a truck bed. The tires are 12.6 inches (320 mm) wide and the wheels are on 37-inch tires. There’s also 13.78 inches (353 millimeters), of suspension travel.

The Land Cruiser connection can be found in the engine bay, where the vehicle uses the latest generation of the 3.5-liter twin turbo V6. Toyota claims that the output is significantly higher than the road-going version’s 409 horsepower (305 kilowatts) e 479 lb-ft (475 Newton-meters) respectively.

Toyota claims that the truck displayed here is not the final version of the truck, as it is still in testing. Toyota plans to debut the rally-ready machine later this year.
