Final Edition of Hennessey Venom GT is the end of production

However, the 270-mph supercar has been discontinued.

Hennessey started assembly of the Venom GT in 2010. Only a dozen production cars were built over six years. The Spyder represented half of the customers cars, while half were coupes. The Final Edition, pictured here with its “glacier” blue paint and white stripes, has been sold for $1.2 million.

The original Venom GT was capable of 1,000 horsepower (746 kilowatts), but its output increased over time. This Final Edition boasts 1,451 HP (1,082kW) and 1,287 Lb-ft (1 1,745 Nm) respectively. It is powered by a biturbo V8 engine with a Ricardo six speed manual gearbox. The Lotus Exige-based supercar reached 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h) on February 14, 2014 at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. The Spyder hit 265.6mph (427.4 km/h) last year at the United States Naval Air Station, Lemoore in California, on March 25, th.

Barrett-Jackson will auction a used roadster tonight in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is not only the first Venom roadster to be built, but it also originally belonged Aerosmith’s lead singer Steven Tyler. The proceeds of the sale will be donated to the charity “Janie’s Fund”.

The Venom, pictured in the gallery above in official renders, will be its successor. It will feature 1,500 horsepower (1,118kW) and can run the 0-60mph (0-96 km/h) in two seconds. The Venom GT can do it in 2.7 seconds.
