GAC Attack! This is a complete list of all GAC vehicles at the Detroit Show

There are many Trumpchi badges.

Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC), a Chinese automaker, brought several of its cars to the Detroit Auto Show. While Entranze Concept may be the stand’s highlight, the automaker’s many production cars and crossovers is definitely worth your attention.

Although the company had previously stated that it would begin selling cars in the U.S. by end of the decade not one of the GAC vehicles displayed appears to be available for sale in our country. None of the GACs we tested had reflectors required by the government, and all used the metric system-based gauge clusters.

Despite this, we were very impressed by the product quality. The interior materials were acceptable and the build quality was above average. Although most vehicles, except for Entranze, are handsome enough, they all seem to borrow styling elements from other established manufacturers. However, GACs don’t look like direct copies of mainstream products.

GAC sales are expected in the U.S., even though we doubt that the brand will have a product here before 2020. The company also has a variety of vehicles that will appeal American automotive tastes. The GS5, GS7 and GS8 crossovers were our favorites, along with the funky GM6 van. It remains to be seen if these vehicles make it to our shores. We recommend that GAC remove the Trumpchi badge from any model it plans on sending to the U.S.
