This is one hell of a company car.
The German premium automaker places the 35-year old British driver behind the wheel in a new marketing campaign that previews electrified AMGs.
Hamilton now has more time to take advantage of the Mercedes company cars that his employer provides, but this Mercedes A-Class isn’t your typical diesel A-1. It boasts more than 1,000 horsepower and is the most powerful road car ever to wear the three-pointed star. Hamilton’s 2020-spec F1 vehicle is shown alongside the AMG One. However, it would have been more appropriate to display the championship-winning 2015 car. The hypercar is powered by a modified 1.6-liter V6 engine that was used in the Mercedes F1 W06 hybrid racer. The combustion engine revs at 11,000 rpm and is paired with four electric motors to propel the car to speeds of more than 217 mph (350 km/h).
Mercedes-AMG used the “After Work” video to show off the production-ready One and the “E Performance” label (hence, the red accents). According to Mercedes-AMG, two more electrified models are on the way. We believe one of them will the AMG GT Four-Door Coupe that produces approximately 800 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor. Although the identity of the other vehicle is unknown, we cannot help but wonder if Mercedes is referring to the S63e. The hybrid V8 engine will produce 700 horsepower. A more powerful S73e could follow with 800 horsepower to replace the S65 AMG.
