The power rate rose by around 30%
A German tuning company can help you if you are in Europe and Jeep has not yet officially sold its most powerful model, Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. It won’t import one. Instead, it will sell you its Grand Cherokee RT version with almost the same power as the Trackhawk. German Motors & Engineering (GME), has created a new compressor kit in collaboration with Edelbrcok, based in the U.S., and which is certified by Germany’s technical control board.
The compressor kit, which is combined with an optimized fuel injector system and new electronic engine control, generates 620 horsepower (462 Kilowatts) from the 6.4-liter V8, and 557 pound feet (756 Newton-meters), a 30% increase over a stock SRT. The new compressor is 2.65 liters in volume and is located between the banks of the cylinders. A patented triple-core intercooler technology cools the charger air. The exhaust gases are discharged by a custom-made, three inch, stainless-steel exhaust pipe. The customer can choose between a carbon or polished finish for the tailpipes.
The suspension has also undergone revisions. GME has installed new sports springs, lowering the front axle by 15 mm and the rear by 30 mm, which are combined with the stock electronically-adjustable Bilstein shock absorbers. A set of 22-inch forged wheels wrapped in Continental Sport Contact 6 tires are completed the improvements to the chassis. The tuners also offer smaller 20-inch wheels wrapped in standard factory SRT tires as an affordable option. GME-tuned Grand Cherokee SRT costs EUR98,900 or roughly $116,845 at current exchange rates. According to the company, it is working on new versions of its Grand Cherokee SRT and claims numbers between 850 horsepower (634 kW) or 1000 horsepower (745 kW).
