We have all the details.
Dacia has unveiled their new SUV. It looks more traditional than what was previously thought. Dacia Duster is available in two sizes: 4×2 or 4×4, and each will have a low price tag and emits very little CO2.
There will be three engines available for either: a 1.6-liter 16V 110 horsepower petrol unit and two dCi diesel units of 85 and 105 horsepower. According to the company, each engine will produce as little as 140 grams CO2 per mile.
The Dacia Duster is 4.31 meters in length and 1.82 meters wide. It will be competing with the new Mitsubishi RVR crossover. However, while the Mitsubishi sports a streamlined design, the Duster will appeal to customers looking for a more conventionally-shaped SUV. Dacia engineers and executives also decided to eliminate many of the circular features that were on the Dacia Duster concept displayed in Geneva last March.
The driver can choose from three modes: 4×2 for driving on roads; Auto to determine how much torque the car should send to the front or back wheels; and Lock, which sends half the torque to the front and rear. Bosch 8.1 antilock brakes, electronic brakeforce dissipation, dual front airbags and three-point belts all make up the safety features. The Duster has a ground clearance of 200+ millimeters, making it easy to navigate in off-road conditions.
Next spring, the Dacia Duster will be available on the European market, including in Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, and Morocco. The SUV will be available in the Middle East, Ukraine and parts of Africa starting in June.
The Renault-badged Duster will eventually be available in Argentina, Brazil and Chile as well as the Persian Gulf States, Russia, and Mexico.
