The 2019 Kia Optima gets a very minor trim update, tech update

Although it isn’t much, it’s still something.

Kiahas made waves with its new Stinger and the redesigned K900flagship sedan. This is one of the top stories at the 2018 New York Auto Show. Although the Optima is not to be overlooked, Kia decided to update its classic compact sedan with new tech and equipment.

Although a quick glance will not reveal much, the 2019 Optima features new wheel styles across the range and a Passion Red exterior paint option. Stinger-inspired LED daytime run lights are featured on the car. S models get new fog lamps, a modified front fascia and LED tail lights. There’s also plenty of gloss black trim around the grille, side sills, and bumpers. The EX trim level features new leather sport seats, ambient lighting options, and the SX has two-tone red/black leather sports seats. The SXL model is a little more luxurious with a two-tone interior in black and Nappa leather.

Kia also upgraded the Optima’s UVO telemetrics system and infotainment system to create a new tiered system. The LX’s basic system includes compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has USB connections for smartphones and voice control capabilities. UVO Link is available on the S and EX models. It adds connected systems and features like alarms, on-demand diagnostics and vehicle controls that can all be accessed remotely via a connected smartphone. The SX and SXL models add navigation
