It is certainly not a sleeper.
American muscle cars are difficult to sell in Europe due to high taxes and high fuel prices. The Ford Mustang with its not-so-muscular EcoBoost 2.3 liter engine is the only one you will see on the Old Continent. Although most muscle cars made in North America aren’t sold directly on European shores, there are a few companies who can ship them over at the right price.
This is why, every so often, a European tuner chooses to focus its attention on a big-engined performance vehicle made in the United States of America. The latest example is from Germany, specifically Nordhorn near the border with The Netherlands. NAP Sportauspuff Manufaktur GmbH performed a series of upgrades on the Dodge Challenger.
First, NAP added a number of carbon fiber bits that they claim “add a touch elegance to the dark muscle cars.” NAP also replaced the standard wheels with 22-inch Vossen aftermarket wheels featuring a intricate “Y” theme, and chunky 305/25 R22 rubber tires.
The Dodge is now closer to the road by 40 millimeters (1.57 inch) and has a carbon fiber side skirts. The quad exhaust system, which is reminiscent of a jet-engine and is finished in bronze to match its wheels, completes the exterior changes.
NAP spent time enhancing the interior, as the cabin was covered in leather and Alcantara. The lightweight, yet very strong material was used for the instrument cluster and the center console to continue the carbon fiber theme. It can also be found on the steering wheel, as well as the gear shift lever of the six-speed manual.
It’s not cheap to import a Dodge Challenger, and then add all these upgrades, but it will be a high-performance car that Europeans rarely see, especially when you consider these mods.
