We believe that there should be another run.
We shared a video in February showing how BMW 128ti handles full load. It was a stunning showcase of Munich FWD hot hatch. Now it’s time for us to compare the 128ti with the original hot hatch. The YouTube channel shows the little Bimmer going head-to-head with the Volkswagen Golf GTI.
The new video shows the cars lining up for a direct. drag race . Although it looks close on paper, the race is not that close in reality. We’ll get to it in a moment, but let’s first look at the Under the hood of the 128ti is a turbocharged gasoline engine with a 2.0-liter turbocharged. It produces 262 horsepower (195kilowatts) as well as 295 pound-feet (405 Newton-meters). This engine can travel at a speed of 6.1, 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h). An eight-speed automatic gearbox transmits power to the front wheels.
The Golf GTI uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct injection engine. The four-cylinder TSI produces 241 hp (180 kW), and 273 lbft (370 Nm), of torque. The red Golf GTI is equipped with a seven speed dual-clutch automated transmission.
The numbers show that there is only a slight difference in the outputs between the two cars. These cars look very closely matched, considering the difference in weight – the 128ti weighs 90 pounds (41 kg).
The 128ti won comfortably and easily despite a poor start from the Wolfsburg hot hatch. The Golf GTI seemed to be having trouble finding traction. We don’t know if it was due to its ESP, or because the DSG automated gearbox didn’t work right. Or maybe a combination of both? We are confident that the Golf GTI will perform better than any other vehicle.
