Name change for the award reflects industry changes.
The WardsAuto has made this year’s headline a bit different. This is due to the evolution of the automotive industry and WardsAuto . The renamed 10 best list is new for the first time. It reflects an industry that continues to build remarkable internal combustion engines, as well as more advanced technologies like hybrids, electric cars, hydrogen-powered fuel cell, and many others.
The WardsAuto 10 Best Engines and Propulsion Systems Competition this year was not as crowded as 2019, but the evaluation still considered 26 newly or significantly updated powertrains. The editors put them through their paces in Detroit this fall and reached a consensus about which powertrains were the best.
