It is wider, lighter, and has an electronic sound generator that delivers the grunt of V8.
The Range Rover Velar was introduced about a year ago. It has inspired a few tuners to make the SUV even more attractive. Aftermarket projects have been shown by Lumma Designs and Urban Automotive. Now, Startech will show how it can customize this posh coupe-SUV.
What is your first order of business? The first order of business? A wide body kit. The total number of 16 custom body parts and pieces has increased by 60 millimeters (2.4in) in width. The tuner’s 22-inch alloy wheels with five-spoke design and a black finish have been freed up. A fancy hub cover gives the illusion that the wheels are center-lock type. Continental was responsible for wrapping the “king-sized” wheels in 295/35R22 tires.
Startech also installed its own exhaust system finishers to the tailpipes. However, the sound inside the cabin will not be generated entirely by the Velar’s engine. The tuner created an electronic sound generator that mimics the engine noise of a gasoline-fed V8. It doesn’t matter what engine the SUV has, so customers can have it. A diesel-powered Velar will produce the same sound as a gasoline V8 but without annoyingly loud.
A lowering kit is designed to round out the exterior changes. Velar Air suspension is available on certain models. The SUV’s center of gravity is lower in the lowest setting. This makes it appear more attractive and improves its handling.
The interior images have not been shown, but the tuner mentioned that it offers many accessories, including scuff plates with the illuminated Startech logo, an aluminum pedal +footrest set, leather and Alcantara upholstery, and wood and carbon trims.
Next week, we will be able to see the Range Rover Velar from Startech at the 88th Geneva Motor Show.
