Bad news: It may look exactly like this.
The BMW X7, although still quite new, is getting a revamp. The Bavarian brand has not yet launched a new generation large SUV, but it is planning to give the vehicle a facelift based on the information we have seen.
The improvements phrase is misleading. There will be some changes, particularly to the front fascia. The first spy photographs already show that they will be significant. However, they won’t be a significant improvement on the design of the X7’s pre-facelift.
Kolesa.ru has decided to remove the prototypes that we have seen so far, and replace them with new renderings. Their work is based on spy photos only and, as much as we may not want to admit it, it’s likely quite accurate.
The Life Cycle Impulse (LCI), for the X7, could result in a redesign of the front layout. The main headlights will now be lower than the X7 currently available in BMW’s showrooms. A thin LED strip may be found below the hood. It is likely to serve as the daytime running light, and it will be separated from the grille. Similar design may be possible for the X8.
The changes at the back will be more subtle. Most important is likely to be the new LED strip connecting the taillights. These could have revised internal graphics. That’s about all we know from spy photos.
Despite all that, the revised X7 will not get the huge grille design of M3/M4 duo. The SUV has already large kidney grilles, but BMW will likely keep them unchanged for the facelift, judging by the spy photos.
