According to reports, the company is refusing to accept new orders for the SUV.
Last year, the Mercedes G-Class set a new record for sales. Mercedes sold just under 41,000 luxury boxes, but there are still opportunities to get on board. A new report by MBPassionBlog claims that Mercedes has shut down its order books for the SUV. This is in addition to Mercedes allegedly increasing delivery dates to the fourth trimestre of 2024, almost three years away.
The report states that prospective G-Class buyers informed the publication that they were not accepting any new orders for the model since January 17. According to the publication, several orders were denied by retailers. This was despite a retroactive order freeze. This news is in addition to the fact that the G-Class delivery times may extend into the fourth quarter 2024.

They are still struggling with chip shortages, and other supply chain issues that have impacted few companies. It’s not easy to build a popular model right at the moment.
If the G-Class is as popular as last year, Mercedes may have a hard time meeting the demand. Although it’s not a major problem, it does mean that the next year for automakers isn’t looking as easy. However, there are some hopeful signs that things might improve.
