2020 Chevrolet Corvette Z51 – Captured in the Wild

This color scheme looks amazing.

Although the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette has not yet been made available for purchase at your local showroom, a few pre-production examples are on the road. This video shows a white ‘Vette equipped with the Z51 Performance Package, while it sits in a parking lot at night. The man with the camera is impressed by what he sees.

The C8’s color is white and emphasizes the body lines. This C8 is a striking contrast to the Z51’s carbon-fiber elements, such as the mirrors or front fascia trim. With the wheel’s wide-spaced spokes, the package’s larger brakes make for a great fit.

This car is pre-production. There are some odd details. The emblem is not present on the front. This keeps the nose clean. While the Corvette logo is taped to the front of the passenger wheel, it’s visible on the other wheels.

The interior of this C8 shows the LT2 seats and the Natural color leather interior. The black trim looks great with the exterior accents in the same color.

The Z51 package costs $5,000 more than the Corvette’s price. The performance exhaust adds 5 horsepower (4 Kilowatts) to the engine and 5 pound-feet (7 Newton meters) of torque. A more aggressive body kit features a front splitter and rear wing as well as a diffuser. Sporty driving is possible with a modified suspension, an electronic limited-slip rear differential and larger brakes. The Z51 also has the Magnetic Ride Control 4 suspension, which can adjust the damping in a matter of just 10-15 milliseconds.

Although the Z51 pack increases the ‘Vette’s performance in most conditions, the modified aerodynamics cause the top speed to drop slightly to 184 mph (296 km/h) . The car can reach 194 mph (312 km/h) in stock form.
