The new Q3 is a more affordable Audi than the fancier and more expensive Audis. It has standard controls for climate control.
A new batch of spy photos has revealed that the Audi Q3 is once again making headlines, just a few days after it was predicted its exterior design using a speculative rendering. Although there is nothing new to report on the evolution of the exterior (we have seen it many times before), what’s really interesting about these spy shots is that they allow us to peek inside the cabin.
The revamped will include the all-digital Audi Virtual Cockpit. This is likely to be the second generation of the system that was introduced with the A8 last summer. The posh crossover will not have touchscreens, unlike its flagship model and the A7 Sportback, as well as the newly unveiled A6 Sedan.
The much-criticized tablet-style infotainment on the previous model’s Q3 has been discontinued. The 2019 Q3 will finally get the MMI’s touchscreen seamlessly integrated into its dashboard. You can see that the climate controls are located right below the screen. There is no secondary touchscreen to allow for all functions.
The dashboard is still hidden under the large piece. However, we can see that the central air vents are located on top of the infotainment display instead of below as on the current Q3. The frameless rearview mirror and the steering wheel with metallic accents will look familiar to Audi enthusiasts. The prototype was powered by an engine that runs at 8,000 rpm according to the digital rev counter.
Audi has announced that it will unveil its second iteration in 2018 of its small luxury crossover. We expect to see it at Paris Motor Show, October 1st or on the Internet. Its MQB foundations will allow for a healthy diet, even though there will be some extra space now that the Q2 is the entry-level crossover.
Audi will soon launch the Q3 regular versions and then a SQ3 and a new RS Q3 range.
