There are only a few days left until the reveal.
You’ll be able to see the Hellcat powered Ram 1500 TX for the first time on August 17. The long-awaited performance pickup will finally be available on Monday. In anticipation, the company released another teaser, giving us a peek at what we can expect.
This teaser is, unfortunately, very vague, just like the previous TRX teasers. This 25 second clip shows only a few quick shots of the truck hidden behind plumes or far away in the distance. The narration asks, “Who will conquer the most treacherous and unforgiving terrain in the world?” We’d guess the Ram TRX.
The Ram 1500 TRX will pack the Hellcat’s supercharged V8 of 6.2-liters. This engine can produce as much as 797 horsepower (or 594 kilowatts) depending on the model. Although we hope that the Ram TRX will pack that much power, it is unlikely. The truck should still produce over 700 horsepower (522 kW) top-spec. A less powerful, but equally affordable, model will use a 5.7-liter Hemi-V8. The only available gearbox will be an eight-speed automatic.
The Ram 1500 TRX will not be all about power. This teaser shows that the Ram 1500 TRX will be able to handle off-road conditions thanks to its more rigid suspension setup and a variety of off-road driving modes. Rumours have it that Ram drivers will be able adjust things such as stability control, throttle sensitive, and shift points with the push of a button.
When the Ram TRX debuts on Monday, we’ll have more information. Production will begin in the fourth quarter, with it going on sale in 2021. However, there is no word yet on pricing. Keep watching Monday at noon Eastern for the complete reveal.
