Huracan, Urus and other models will get hybrid powertrains. A fourth model line is also being considered.
Lamborghini strongly suggested that its Aventador replacement would include electrification. The CEO of the company has made it clear that the flagship model will feature a hybrid setup. Stefano Domenicali revealed that the Aventador will replace the V12 engine and add an electrified component.
The Urus will be electrified first. A plug-in hybrid version, however, of the Super SUV is expected to arrive at the end of this decade. According to latest information, the hybridized bull will be powered by an adaption of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid’s 4.0-liter V8. This powertrain offers a staggering 671 horsepower (550 kilowatts) as well as 626 pound-feet (685 Newton-meters) in torque.
The Urus PHEV may not be Lamborghini’s first electrified model. Asterion was a concept. However, reports claim that a hybrid hypercar has been shown to potential buyers. According to rumours, only 67 units will be produced at $2.5 million per unit. The design is influenced by futuristic Terzo Millennio.
The Aventador’s successor is expected to arrive in the first decade of the next century. The current generation has one more advantage: Superveloce Jota. The Aventador, which is expected to surpass the Porsche 911 GT2 RS at the Nurburgring as the fastest production car, is a collector’s item. It will be the last V12 machine made in Sant’Agata.
Lamborghini may expand its model range to include a fourth line of Lamborghini models, but that decision is still not made. Domenciali warned that the company must keep an eye on the progress of the high-end market to determine if there is a need for such models, whether it’s a follow-up or something else.
