Manhart is perhaps best known for its BMW X3M project which is a true catapult-on-wheels. The German tuners now have a new contender for the utility crown. It seems to be a good match for last May’s Audi RS Q8. The Manhart MHX5 800 is a redesigned version of the BMW X5 M.

These improvements have resulted in a powerful SUV with 823 horsepower (614 Kilowatts) as well as a peak torque (797 pound-feet (1.080 Newton-meters). The new software has updated the eight-speed automatic gearbox and routes the power to all four wheels.

Manhart does not provide acceleration or top speed numbers, but the MHX5800 is faster off the line than the stock car which takes 3.8 seconds (0-100 km/h) and 3.7 seconds for Competition.

Manhart also offers Race downpipe upgrades that eliminate the catalytic converters as well as the gasoline particulate filter. However, it is only available for certain markets. The SUV is mounted on 22-inch forged wheels with 295/30 tires, regardless of where it is located. The suspension has been adjusted to be 30 millimeters less than the stock.
