You’ll also find short- and long-wheelbase versions.
Jeep today revealed a concept for an important addition to its lineup, the Grand Wagoneer. The Wagoneer’s pinnacle model will be the most expensive in the Wagoneer range. It will have three rows of seats and a lot of technology and luxury.
Christian Meunier, the Jeep president, was interviewed by the publication. He stated that the standard Wagoneer would cost around $60,000 and the Grand-Wagoneer, which will be more expensive, will cost six figures. This is quite a spread but it seems like Jeep wants the Wagoneer family of vehicles to be competitive against many other competitors. According to Car and driver The Wagoneer will compete with Ford and Chevy as well as Lincoln and Cadillac like the Suburban And Navigator .Meunier stated to the magazine that the Grand Wagoneer as well as the Wagoneer would both be available in both short- and long-wheelbase configurations. This is in addition to Jeep’s luxurious ambitions and the large price range. The Grand Wagoneer is sure to please those who purchase it. Although Jeep refers to the Grand Wagoneer as a concept car, we believe it is much closer to production readiness than the automaker would like us to believe.
Seven infotainment screens are featured throughout the concept. They all run Uconnect 5, which Jeep claims is five times faster than Uconnect 4. A 12.3-inch configurable cluster of instruments, a dedicated 10.3 inch screen for the front passenger and a 12.1″ upper infotainment display screen, a 10.3 inches rear console display display, and two 10.1 inch screens for each rear passenger are included. Sheesh.
The Ram 1500 will also share its underpinnings, including powertrains. This means that the 1500’s eTorque mild hybrid 5.7-liter V8 engine should be offered as an option. Rumours abound that the Wagoneer could get an FCA inline-six. Plug-in hybrid tech could also be added.
Although the Grand Wagoneer Jeep today revealed is a concept car, it is very real. Production of the Wagoneer family will begin next year. It’ll be manufactured at the automaker’s Warren, Michigan plant alongside the Ram 1500.
