We just love it!
Independent automotive designers often allow us to envision the cars we have been dreaming of. This rendering, which comes from rain Prisk and is a modern interpretation of the Mercedes-Benz CLK GT, is just one example.
Let’s start by briefly describing the origin of the CLK GTR. AMG produced it in 1998 and 1999, with just 30 units built. Each was assembled at AMG’s Affalterbach plant between 1998 and 1999.
It was a V12 mid engine beast that produced 604 horsepower (450 Kilowatts) as well as 572 pound-feet (775 Newton meters) of torque. It was also one of the fastest accelerating cars of its time, able to go from 0-60 miles per hour to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. Mercedes-AMG sold it for $1,547.620, making it the most expensive production vehicle ever made, according to Guinness Book of World Records.
All these facts aside, you can easily agree that the CLK GTR was an exceptional vehicle. This new virtual drawing by Prisk shows what looks to be a stunning project. It combines lines from the original car and cues that are now part the German company’s design DNA.
If we had to choose our favorite part of this rendering, it would be the roof-mounted airscoop. It is clearly inspired by the Mercedes-AMG One’s detail and we love it. Two-tone wheels, carbon fibre additions to bumpers and overall predator stance are all spot on.
