We believe you may already be the winner.
It’s Friday, and it’s a great time to discuss some fast cars. The Demonology YouTube recently released a video that compares the Dodge Demon to what is probably the most powerful production SUV of today. You guessed it, the Jeep Trackhawk.
Let’s look at the numbers before we discuss the outcome of the drag racing. As we all know, the Demon is a lightweight vehicle with one goal: to destroy all other vehicles at the drag strip. It uses a 6.2-liter V8 and a supercharger of 2.7-liters to produce 808 horsepower (603 Kilowatts) with 91-octane fuel, and up to 840 HP (626 kW), on 100-octane.
The Demon is outclassed by the Jeep Trackhawk which uses a 6.2-liter engine. It produces 707 horsepower (527 kW) as well as 645 pound-feet (875 Newton meters) of torque. Two V8 monsters are parked at the track to see who is faster off the line. Do you think the SUV has a chance against Demon?
Although we try to not spoil the fun of watching drag racing, this one is not so close. There’s nothing wrong in watching two fast cars race against one another, even if you don’t know who the winner is. The case is almost the same here. The Trackhawk is not in the same performance category as the Demon, we will state it that way.
Also, the 10:14-minute video above shows the Demon race and a few other cars. There are some burnouts and weird footage from an Asian movie. Scroll to the six minute mark to skip the rest and jump straight to the drag.
