They are, unfortunately, only renderings.
Koenigsegg has had a busy year with two new releases – the Jesko, and the four-seat mega-GT Gemera. These two new models join an already impressive lineup of hypercars that combine advanced technology and sleek Swedish styling to create high-end packages. It’s clear that the next Koenigsegg model is going to be as creative and wild as the ones before it. A new set of renderings shows what the future holds for the automaker. It’s impressive.
Maximilian Schneider’s renderings of the Koenigsegg Konigsei Concept show a hypercar which looks almost like it was designed by Koenigsegg. On his Instagram account, you can also see the sketches. You can work through several design variations before you commit to what is shown. Many of the design elements that Koenigsegg used in his Konigsei Concept are replicated by the Konigsei Concept, including the low greenhouse and wide stance.
The most striking visual feature is the two bumps at the front clip, which warp the windshield and then appear to “disappear into” the cabin. The dual-pronged styling element extends from the roof to the rear, reaching into the fascia and wing. This is a very common feature on Koenigsegg models. It is a striking and prominent choice that draws attention to its slim shape.
These create amazing flying buttresses at rear. The bold decision to place the taillights above and below the rear wings is also bold, especially since they are located on the trailing edge the rear fenders. The bumper is also minimal. The rear tires are exposed by huge openings in the fascia. One is enough for the tailpipes and license plate. You don’t need anything more.
Although the renderings are stunning, this is a concept. This model has all the hallmarks and bold design choices of a Koenigsegg. We know that Koenigsegg is looking forward to its new models. But, such a bold design could cause Koenigsegg problems if it had to homologate the model. See more photos on Schneider’s Instagram.
