You can prove that extra horsepower is a good thing.
The Chevy Corvette is the ultimate tuner’s dream, offering a capable chassis, powerful V8 and a wide range of mods at an affordable price. Hennessey Performance, a Texas-based tuner offers customized tuning packages for Corvettes. They also offer a Hennessey-backed warranty. Hennessey, who is currently tuning the C8 Corvette, wanted to compare their HPE850 C7 Corvette Z06 with a stock C8 Corvette.
The Corvette is now familiar and ready to replace its predecessor. It will also show you what a mid-engine layout can do. The 6.2-liter LT2V8 engine powers the C8 Corvette. It produces 490 hp (365 kW) and 465 lb/ft (630 Nm). This powerful engine is an evolution from the LT1 that was used in the C7 Corvette Stingray. Tremec’s 8-speed dual-clutch transmission is the only available. This gives the C8 an enormous performance advantage over the C7 Corvette Stingray’s auto. Hennessey has been developing tuning packages for the C8 Corvettes. We expect big power numbers from the new bargain supercar. Performance Race 2020 Chevy Corvette C8 – 1/4 Mile Battle
Today’s C7 Corvette Z06 is not your ordinary Corvette. It benefits from Hennessey’s HPE850 package. This package increases the Z06’s horsepower to 650HP and up to 850HP. The cylinder head has been completely rebuilt to increase airflow and replace valve springs, valves and lifts. This increases power. To increase engine power, there is a smaller pulley and longer tube headers with high flow catalysts.
It’s evident that the C8 Corvette’s superior engineering and drivetrain can outperform the C8 Corvette by 350 horsepower in the final race. The C8 will take revenge, however, once Hennessey adds a few hundred horses to the C8.
