After reports that Aston Martin applied for trademarks to DB10 and DB14, evidence has emerged of Aston Martin’s future product naming strategy.

Speculation is now underway about the model that will replace the DB9, which is expected to hit dealerships in 2016. Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s design director, said that the successor to the DB9 will be a “DB”, although the exact number is still unknown.

While the DB10 will be the favorite, some executives prefer the DB9. We expect it will be called something else, but it will feature a twin-turbo AMG V8 motor and a new design. It is expected to debut sometime in 2016 or early 2017.
