The Sportage Hybrid can travel up to 500 miles with a single tank.
Kia unveiled the new Sportsage last month. It features a new exterior design and stylish cabin. The new 2.5-liter engine option is also available. We get to see the Sportage today with its hybrid powertrain, which can deliver up to 500 miles (805 km) on one fill-up.
The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid features a turbocharged, 1.6-liter engine coupled to a 1.5-kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery pack. It also has a 44-kilowatt electrical motor. The total system output is 226 horsepower (166kilowatts). This is a significant improvement on the base gas model’s 175 horses (138kW). Fuel economy is up to 39 MPG. The hybrid Kia can tow up to 2,000 lbs (907 kg).
The Kia Sportage Hybrid cabin features almost all of the same features as the regular gas model. The center console is outfitted with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto are available at no additional cost. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is attached to the touchscreen. The Sportage Hybrid offers wireless phone charging as well as an Harman-Kardon premium sound system.
Safety features that are standard include automatic emergency brake, lane-keep assistance with lane centering, high beam assist, and many more. The Sportage Hybrid comes with eight standard safety features. Blind-spot monitoring, navigation based smart cruise control and the brand’s outstanding Highway Driving Assist are all available safety options. Kia also offers a 360 degree camera with a 3D view that is unique for the Sportage.
The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid will join the lineup in the first half of next year. We expect to find out more about the hybrid and gas models before the end next year. However, the company has not yet provided pricing information.
