She told you to forget about the Disco Volante.
The Touring Supleggera Disco Volante will be familiar to keen readers. This beast, based on the Alfa Romeo underpinnings, was just as fast as it was beautiful to look at. It’s all great and well, but the coachbuilder from Italy has another vehicle planned to mark its 95th anniversary.
Although Touring is not a household name yet, the Italian design house was instrumental in creating some of the most famous vehicles of all time. It started out designing and building Alfa Romeo sports cars. They soon made a big change when they created the Aston Martin DB5 & DB6 and the first Lamborghini ever built. The 350 GT .
Touring has announced that the 95th anniversary tribute will be a mid-engined layout with supercar powertrain. This is a departure from the standard front-engined vehicle lineup. The special will also share many design elements with its predecessors, except for the fact that the engine will be positioned behind the front wheels. It’s a good thing. A quick glance at the brand’s history books reveals stunning vehicles such as the Aero, Spyder and Disco Volante.
The details are still very limited as it is early stages. If the Disco Volante’s 450 horsepower (335 kilowatt) V8 engine (4.7-liter) is any indication, we would wager that the new vehicle will have more power.
The supercar celebrating the 95th anniversary is currently in its final stages of production. It will be available in June 2021. The car will be on tour at leading events like Salon Prive, The Bridge, Salon Prive and The Quail. We welcome your comments in the comments section.
