To the right you will see a BMW M3 of the E92 generation. This is not a stock example. Some modifications include a custom exhaust system and a new cold intake. It produces a total of 430 horsepower (31.6 kilowatts), which is channeled to rear wheels via a seven speed dual-clutch transmission. Although the gearbox is the weakest link in this performance coupe, it weighs approximately 3,527 pounds (1 600 kilograms) and has a decent power-to weight ratio.
The Vespa scooter is located on the left. This combination doesn’t seem very logical at first glance. However, it is a Vespa tuned with a 150cc single-cylinder engine that produces 43 hp (32kW) This is roughly ten times the factory output. There’s also a five-plate drag clutch and a larger carburetor. Larger wheels and larger tires are all part of this new Vespa. The Vespa weighs in at around 353 lbs (160 kilograms) with the rider. It weighs ten-times less and has ten-times as many ponies than the BMW M3. A four-speed transmission drives the scooter’s rear wheels.
The video at the top is nearly 13 minutes long. After the introduction of the vehicles, and their drivers there are a series drag races. The classic quarter-mile race starts from a standing start and ends with a roll start drag racing. Each category is subject to the best-out of-three rule. Professional measuring equipment records the performance of each vehicle. These two machines have exactly the same power-to weight ratio and are well worth your attention.
