Bentley announced that it will soon decide if the EXP10 Speed 6 concept should be made into a production model.
The EXP10 Speed 6 concept was unveiled last year at the Geneva Motor Show. It represents Bentley’s vision for a smaller coupe that has a striking design and received a lot of positive feedback. According to CEO Wolfgang Durheimer, the first reaction was overwhelming and potential customers said that they didn’t want to change anything.
Bentley is close to making a decision on whether or not the two-door coupe will be a reality. It will launch as a coupe initially, with the possibility of a convertible later. The new model won’t be in production as Durheimer stated that the next-gen Continental GT will launch it first.
The new Crewe grand tourer is being pinned for a late 2017 release. This means that the smaller coupe will not be released before 2018/2019, unless Bentley’s executives approve the project. According to Kevin Rose, sales and marketing manager at Bentley, the car will be able to ride on the Porsche-designed MSB platform.
Durheimer stated that it could launch a open-top Mulsanne derivative through its bespoke Mulliner division. Durheimer stated that the unit would cost “very high” and would only be made 20 units, beginning in 2018.
