It will be made in the USA.
Polestar will launch its third model and first SUV to expand its range of electric vehicles. While the Polestar 3 shares some parts with the third-generation Volvo XC90, it will feature a new powertrain. The official launch of the zero emission crossover by the Swedish automaker is set for October and customers will be able order it the day before.
An official announcement of the launch is concealed in a press release that summarizes Polestar’s financial and sales results for the first four month. Polestar 3 will allow the company to expand its business as the SUV market is a high growth segment in the industry.
We believe that our future growth will be further accelerated with our entry into the lucrative SUV marketplace later in the year, when we unveil the long-awaited Polestar 3 performance SUV. Polestar 3 will be made in the USA and China and will make it stand out from other SUVs and help us move into the next phase of our growth,” Thomas Ingenlath (Polestar CEO) says.
The Polestar 3 will come with either one or two electric motors, but we don’t have many details. The Polestar 3 will only be available in a two-row configuration. It will be positioned as a more luxury, luxurious and sportier vehicle than the Volvo XC90. The two SUVs from Sweden will share the same platform. However, the Polestar 3 will have purely electric powertrains. This model will be made in the United States.
Polestar proudly claims that it has delivered a record-breaking number of vehicles in the first four months. Around 13,600 vehicles were delivered across the globe, more than twice the number of vehicles that were delivered during the same time last year. Polestar is currently present in 23 countries and plans to expand into 30 more by next year.
