Porsche Taycan Hits Two Cars In Parking Maneuver Gone Terribly Wrong

Although we don’t know what happened, the insurance company will not be happy.

The instant torque of an electric vehicle can be both a blessing or a curse. This Porsche Taycan driver learned this lesson the hard way. A strange accident footage has been released, showing what appears to be a quiet neighborhood in the UK. The sidewalk parking and brick houses are indicative of this. This must have happened in Britain, since the performance EV has right-hand drive.

This driveway is certainly not the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. However, it doesn’t explain why the crash. The driver may have stepped on the accelerator instead of pressing the brake pedal, making the most of the Taycan’s instant torque in the worst possible way. Another possible explanation is that the driver suffered a stroke, and was unable to control the vehicle.

The insurance company isn’t going along with this, regardless of the reason. After hitting a parked SUV, the Porsche Taycan flew off the driveway and smashed into what appears to be a previous-generation BMW 1 Series before landing with two of its wheels in the air. We are hopeful that the driver is okay and that this was not a serious accident.

The driver may have stepped on the gas pedal too hard and the electric motors of the Taycan caused the instant torque that I mentioned earlier to happen. Even the base 4S has an instant torque output of 477 pound feet (647 Newton-meters). Porsche launched a lower-powered single-motor version with rear wheel drive. However, this car cannot be the Mission E concept’s rider as it is only available in China.
