Roofless Mercedes CLS63 AMG gets a new lease of life after massive body repair

You can see the master at work.

We have been covering Arthur Tussiks repairs for many decades, but this CLS 63AMG wrecked CLS is its most impressive work. The original Mercedes “four-door coupe” must have suffered terrible things, losing its roof and causing damage to virtually all other body panels. Although the CLS was difficult to restore, the expert body repair technician managed to bring it back to life.

It is undoubtedly an impressive feat of work and time, but it raises trust issues. It is quite distressing to see a car without a roof and its pillars being ripped off. It must have been in a terrible accident that caused it to suffer severe damages. Arthur found out that the vehicle was involved in an accident before it lost its roof. This is because the structural integrity of its front end had to be compromised. This CLS has lived a difficult life.

Arthur used his trusty welding machine to give the car a new roof after moving the B-pillars back to their original positions. The top was taken from an older donor car. Also, the rear quarter panel had to be changed. To ensure that the CLS was as accurate as possible after major body repairs, he used official Mercedes documents.

It was a lot of work, even though the time-lapse video takes almost 20 minutes. This doesn’t include the time spent putting on the lights, side mirrors, or grille. The CLS, which has a 500-horsepower plus engine, still needs to get painted and fitted with all the exterior trim pieces.

The complete car will be shown in a follow-up video, most likely appearing as if nothing ever happened. If we were looking for a CLS 63 AMG, we’ll be open and say that we wouldn’t touch the car with a ten foot pole. The video shows how even a car that seems to be in total can still be saved from certain death if it is handled with the right tools.
