It could be equipped with a more powerful version of the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine found in the warm Focus ST. This power unit is also used in the Radial SR3 SL which produces 300 hp (224kW). There are greater chances that a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with 350 horsepower (261kW) is developed in the United States.

The new Ford Focus RS model will likely be sold as a 5-door only and will be first available in the United States.
