Opel has released pricing details for the Astra K that will be sold at home in Germany.
Base version starts at EUR17,960. It comes with a small three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine of 1.0-liter capacity rated at 105 PS (77kW). The engine can be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission, which will allow the hatchback to consume 4.3 liters/100 km (54.7 mpg US/65.6 mpg UK), with CO2 emissions of 99g/km. However, the five-speed automatic five-speed transmission allows it to take just 4.2liters/100 km (67.2 mpg US/56 mpg UK) and emits just 96g/km CO2.
The 1.6 CDTI “whisper Diesel” engine version of the Astra starts at EUR20.260. It has 95 PS (70kW) or 136 PS (135kW). This version, when combined with a 6-speed manual transmission, will consume only 3.4 liters/100 km (83 mpg US/69.1 MPg UK) while emitting just 90 g/km CO2.
