SEAT Ateca Cupra Tackling the Nurburgring

This will be the most expensive SEAT car.

High-performance crossovers were once only available from premium automakers. But mainstream brands are starting to explore this new segment. SEAT will get the Tiguan R, while Volkswagen will make it happen with the forthcoming Tiguan R. This Ateca Cupra was spotted roaming the Green Hell recently. Skoda’s Kodiaq will also be a hot -RS derivative over the next few years.

This is the prototype of the Ateca cupra, but it has been fitted with the body from the FR trim. We can see a difference in the design of the Ateca Cupra. The front fog lights are missing to make the air vents appear larger, but this is merely a fake because there is essentially sand behind the honeycomb pattern.

The quad-round exhaust tips may not make it to production at the back. Leon Cupra’s Leon Cupra models feature two oval finishers. It would be strange for the Ateca Cupra setup to have a different configuration. The outside changes will be completed by a lowered sports suspension, stronger brakes, custom alloy wheels, and an aggressive body.

We expect to see the 2.0TSI with 300 horsepower (224 Kilowatts) as well as 280 pound-feet (382 Newton-meterss) of torque under the hood. The prototype’s “4Drive” badge is a sign that the Ateca Cupra will be equipped with all-wheel drive, just like the Leon ST Cupra.

The Ateca will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. VW may also bring the Tiguan R. Martorell’s go-faster crossover will likely go on sale in 2017 and will be the most expensive SEAT model in the lineup. The production version will not stray far from the speculative rendering when the wraps are removed.
