This is all while using pump gas.
Hennessey Performance Engineering (or Hennessey) is synonymous with American tuned cars that produce huge power outputs. The popular tuner was fond of tuning Detroit’s Big Three – Ford and GM.
You’ll actually find most American brands on Hennessey’s website. McLaren is the exception. The Porsche Taycan is planned this, and other, is the Audi R8
The R8’s naturally-aspirated V10 5.2L isn’t slow. However, the Performance Quattro version of the engine can produce 612 horsepower (456 Kilowatts) as well as 428 pound-feet (580 Newton meters) of torque. The R8 can go from 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) in 3.1 seconds.
The goal of the Hennessey HPE900 twin-turbo performance enhancement is to increase the R8’s power to 912 horsepower (680 kW) at 7,400 RPM. Two Precision twin ball bearing turbochargers were used to accomplish this feat. This video shows the Hennessey Audi R8 running on the Dyno. It produces 752 horsepower (561 kW) at four wheels and 545lb-ft (739Nm) at the rear. It’s not bad. It’s not bad at all.
Hennessey claims that the R8 was only given 6 PSI boost on the dyno, and that it still uses pump gasoline. Engine, fuel system and transmission remain stock.
Hennessey offers the HPE900 upgrade to R8’s platform brother the Lamborghini Huracan. Although there aren’t any details available yet, this upgrade is sure to be a hit with the Texas-based tuner.
