Last year, we saw a concept version. Auto Express reports that a production model will be launched in Japan this spring, with the United States and Europe following soon.
It won’t be turbocharged because of engine bay space constraints. There isn’t enough space to fit in an intercooler. Variable valve control system tweaks will allow for power to be increased to 230 horsepower (171 kW), and a higher rev limit beyond 7,500 rpm. The upgrade of dampers and springs, as well as four-piston STI brakes with four-piston braking and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in grippier rubbers, will be done.
The BRZ STI will receive a front lip spoiler and an updated grille. There will also be different side skirts. A large rear wing will be added. Inside the cabin, you can expect bucket seats and additional dials.
